BLEDFEST, WE’RE READY. WHO’S COMIN?!?

BLEDFEST, WE’RE READY. WHO’S COMIN?!?

Incase you don’t follow us on twitter, facebook, or have yet to subscribe to us on youtube, we’d like you to know that DREAMS CAME TRUE TODAY!!!
On monday we started a campaign featured a video  that we called the #bledfestchallenge in which we challenged Andrew WK to party at our set during Bledfest, a festival in which we are playing and Andrew is headlining. We asked those in the Flint Family (aka people who listen to our music - cause let’s face it, we’re in this together) to tweet  Andrew WK  a video saying we want to party with him and that they want to see him party with us, too. AND TODAY HE TWEETED US SAYING HE IS IN. HE’S GOING TO PARTY. AT BLEDFEST. WITH US! DURING OUR SET!!!!
TO MAKE MATTERS EVEN BETTER, HE PUT US ON HIS WEBSITE - THERE WE ARE. NEXT TO THE MASTER OF PARTY!!!!!
You guys, i don’t think you understand how huge this is for us. Andrew WK has played a major role in our musical upbringing. He taught us that music (and life) can and should be as exciting as you want it to be. He taught us the power of postive partying and that partying is a lifestyle of intentionally being exciting about everything life has to offer, no matter how miniscule or mundain it may seem at a quick glance. This is truly an experience we will never forget!
.
So from all of us here at Flint Eastwood, we want to say an enormously heartfelt thankyou thankyou TAHNKYOU to all of you Flint Famil members who tweeted/tagged us/reposted our video.  You truly have blown us away and your actions truly means the world to all of us!
.
Take Care, Y’all!

Thoughts while waiting -

I’ve always taken a liking to travel. Long car rides sooth me, day trips thrill me, and weekend getaways give me a reason to look forward to the future. There’s nothing more exciting for me than moving to a band new city. Somewhere that every street and old convenience store feels like an adventure waiting to be discovered. Every park feels greener than the ones you had grown used to back home. Every human seems fascinating and every bar, restaurant, and bookstore are viewed with a sense of hightened awareness that had been lost in the familiarity of your everyday activities. One of my favorite parts of relocating to somewhere new is that it gives you a reason to talk to anyone. By simply starting the conversation with “Excuse me - I’m new to the area…” it’s like all barriers and grudges disappear. Everyone wants to be a hero— so why wouldn’t the young human with a good backpack help me out and tell me where I can get a mean falafel sandwich? it doesn’t hurt them. This then opens the door to ask more questions - how long they’ve been in the area, where are the good coffee shops, where are the solid dance parties? And who knows - they may even ask you a few questions and presto! a new friendship has been discovered!

.

Granted it doesn’t always lead to a full blown conversation, but there’s something about being in a new town that makes people more open to it. I love it.

I moved around a bit for a number of years and I find myself in my homestate of Michigan once again. I’ve been here going on 2 years this August and the restless feeling of wanting to relocate has began to creep it’s little head back into my mind. This time I’m fighting it. Though I love the thrill of a new city and I always meet amazing humans that bring mass amounts of growth, love, and learning experiences to my life, that’s all relocating would be at this point: a thrill. I’ve planted my feet into some great projects and even better friendships here in the Mitten state and to move away would mean more death to things I love than life to things that could potentially be great.

.

I’m sure all of the warm air and sunshine has gotten to my head and the feeling will pass with my next bike ride or conversation with a good friend. But for now I can’t help by dwell on the thought of being somewhere completely different.

.

How about you all - Anyone else have an itch to move? What’s holding you back?

.

I’m interested to hear your stories.

.

-Jax

ps. I know this post has nothing to do with music, but it’s definitely something that has been effecting my creative process and therefore feels relevant. And I feel it’s time to take this blog to the next level: expect more personal posts from us here at Flint Eastwood - And we expect you to respond accordingly!
